Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in San Ramon, California
Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing our clients invoicing and payment processes to ensure accurate revenue recognition and timely collections. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to showcase their analytical skills, refine their accounting knowledge, and potentially grow into a long-term position within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
+ + Invoice Processing: Generate and distribute accurate invoices to customers while ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting guidelines.
Payment Tracking: Record, reconcile, and apply incoming payments to appropriate customer accounts in a timely manner.
Aging Report Management: Monitor and maintain accounts receivable aging reports, identify past-due accounts, and take proactive measures to resolve payment delays.
Collections & Communication: Engage with customers via phone and email to follow up on overdue invoices, establish payment arrangements, and resolve discrepancies or disputes.
Account Reconciliations: Reconcile customer statements, address unapplied credits or short pays, and ensure account balances are accurately reflected.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to research and resolve billing or payment issues.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and collection efforts. Provide regular status updates to management as needed.
Requirements
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related financial roles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage customer relationships and internal collaborations.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify issues, research potential resolutions, and implement solutions independently.
