Our Corporate Benefits Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant II to join the team. This role is an integral part of our accounting close and focuses on the accounting, reconciliation, and analysis of various payroll and benefits matters. This position requires impeccable attention to detail, ability to deliver timely results under tight deadlines, and great business partner and communications skills.
Specific responsibilities include:
Perform and improve processes relating to month-end interface validations between payroll subledger and general ledger.
Responsible for intercompany transactions, including elimination and allocations.
Maintain and prepare reconciliations between sub-ledger and general ledger for various payroll/benefits accounts.
Prepare monthly/quarterly/year end close journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
Perform financial statement flux analysis and provide relevant explanations to business/leadership. Understand and communicate how operational accounting impacts financial statements.
Drive the business partnership cross functionally to plan for the integrations and processes for various payroll and benefits programs, particularly at year end.
Ensure compliance with SOX policies and procedures, including conducting walk throughs with internal and external audit teams.
Respond to audit requests, including preparing schedules, providing data, and resolving inquiries.
Work with other teams across organization to research and resolve accounting issues.
Maintain department policies and procedures documents.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance controls.
Perform ad-hoc research and participate in projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience in accounting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, ability to research and recommend a solution.
Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Experience collaborating with BSAs and IT teams on financial systems projects and/or daily operations.
Ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
Accounting close and account reconciliation experience using different financial ERP systems (knowledge of data structure and query tools). Experience with Peoplesoft and Workday a plus.
Knowledge of payroll accounting and intercompany transactions a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Ability to grasp new concepts and/or systems and technology quickly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CPA preferred.
The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
$84,000.00 - $128,000.00
