Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a meticulous Tax Preparer in San Ramon, California. The successful candidate will join our team in the tax industry, where they will be responsible for preparing various types of tax returns, handling bookkeeping tasks, and working with tax software and data entry. This role involves working in an office environment and demands proficiency in skills such as Lacerte Tax Software, Intuit Lacerte, Data Entry, Tax Preparer, and Tax Preparation.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare a diverse range of tax returns including trust, personal, and business returns
• Work in a team environment, collaborating with a CPA and three other office staff
• Utilize Lacerte software for tax preparation tasks
• Perform bookkeeping duties in addition to tax and data entry work
• Manage portal work including downloading tax documents and uploading files
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
• Resolve any tax-related inquiries from clients
• Monitor and manage customer credit accounts, taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to tax compliance
• Stay updated on tax preparation industry trends and changes in tax laws. Requirements
• Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software and Intuit Lacerte is required.
• Strong data entry skills are necessary.
• Prior experience as a Tax Preparer is essential.
• Extensive knowledge of tax preparation processes and procedures is a must.
• Ability to adhere to all tax regulations and standards.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
