Robert Half GL Accountant in Sandpoint, Idaho

To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role. This outgoing team is looking to grow!

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting


  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • General ledger experience
