Robert Half HR Generalist in Sanford, North Carolina

Description If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an engaging, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including managing employee relations, recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, and updating the employee handbook.

What you get to do every single day

  • Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations

  • Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews

  • Engage with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors

  • Manage employee relations, which may include finding new ways to engage employees or coordinating sensitive conversations

  • Draft templates for various HR documents, including the Employee Handbook

  • Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees

  • Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite

  • Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department

  • Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures

  • Evaluate employee performance, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)

  • Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters

  • Develop a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections Requirements - Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)

  • Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks

  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis

  • Strong understanding local, state and federal laws

  • Skilled in technology applications and software, as well as social media platforms

  • Prior HR Generalist experience preferred

    • If you are highly professional, and able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity, you will be a top candidate
  • Excellent written and verbal business skills

  • Full cycle recruiting experience

  • Prior experience coordinating and implementing Open Enrollment is a plus
