Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Santa Barbara, California
Description
We are working on an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Santa Barbara, California. The individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and accounting operations. The role requires a strong background in accounting and a good understanding of nonprofit accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all financial management aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Manage cash flow, budgets, and banking relationships, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, board of directors, and external stakeholders
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning
• Assist in the development of annual operating budgets and long-term financial forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for budget adjustments as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline accounting operations and enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and government reporting
• Implement, monitor and update internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard organizational assets
Requirements
• BA or BS in Accounting or related field required
• Non-profit experience required
• Grant Accounting, financial reporting, audits and budgets
• Experience with Raiser's Edge, Advanced Excel
