Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Santa Barbara, California
Description
We are looking for a diligent Accounting Specialist to join a team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will provide crucial support to our accounting operations by handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable, working with our general ledger, and performing bank reconciliations. You will also assist with purchase orders and provide support during external audits.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to the Accounts Payable Coordinator
• Handle both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations
• Work with the general ledger and handle reconciliations
• Assist with purchase orders and external audit support
• Utilize accounting software for various tasks
• Direct invoicing
• Maintain and manage bank reconciliations
• Provide support for accounting specialist tasks
• Stay up to date with reconciliations software management
• Maintain accurate record keeping.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures
• Strong experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Solid understanding of the General Ledger
• Ability to handle high volume invoices with precision
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel is a must (pivot tables, V-Lookups)
• Excellent analytical skills for resolving discrepancies and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
