Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Financial Analyst - Entry Level position in Santa Barbara, California. This role involves working with accounting software systems, running statistical reports, and managing large sets of data. The successful candidate will be expected to work on-site and will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the financial health and stability of our operations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and manipulate large sets of data using advanced Excel functionalities such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros
• Utilize accounting software systems for various tasks including journal entries
• Prepare and submit statistical reports as required by state regulations
• Maintain and update customer credit records with utmost accuracy
• Conduct regular research and follow-ups to ensure all reports are received in a timely manner
• Utilize strong technical skills to optimize the use of financial software systems like Workday and/or FIN
• Execute accounting functions including accrual accounting and auditing
• Use data mining techniques to extract valuable information for decision-making
• Ensure all customer inquiries are resolved efficiently and accurately
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on account status. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of data mining techniques.
• Familiarity with accounting functions and accrual accounting.
• Experience in auditing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
