Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Santa Barbara, California

Description Our client is searching for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their company. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will manage full cycle A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation and audit. The Full Charge Bookkeeper might also be allowed to lead the clerical staff. Self-driven and organized accounting professionals might be interested in this Bookkeeper role if they thrive under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Santa Barbara, California area.

What you get to do every single day

  • Look after Accounts Payable

  • Competent in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Manage monthly accounting close

  • Catalog budget transfers

  • Arrange monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Business license and gross receipts reporting

  • Administrate Accounts Receivable

  • Set up subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Fashion cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Other special projects as requested

  • Group sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Supply cash flow projections, as needed Requirements - Expertise in Payroll Tax Returns

  • Strong familiarity with account reconciliation

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Adjusting Journal Entries

  • Foundational knowledge in Financial Statement

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

    • Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
