Description

We are seeking a proficient Budget and Finance Specialist responsible for managing and processing budget and financial transactions within our Public Health Division. The successful candidate will work closely with our program staff and Bureau Chiefs to handle bureau-level financial transactions, submit appropriation requests and operating budgets, update projections, and regularly liaise with program managers to ensure solvent budgets. In-depth knowledge of financial accounting functions, general accepted accounting principles, billing and revenue collections is essential, as is experience with federal grants, budget and accounting, and using SHARE Financials and Microsoft Office.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration coupled with at least five years' experience in budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing. Superior communication skills, the capability to multitask in a busy environment and a strong understanding of legislative and appropriation processes are also necessary. We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Budget Analyst in the Public Health Division located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing budget and financial transactions, submitting appropriation requests and operating budgets, updating projections, and liaising with program managers to ensure solvent budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process budget and financial transactions within the Public Health Division.

• Work closely with program staff and Bureau Chiefs to handle bureau-level financial transactions.

• Submit appropriation requests and operating budgets.

• Update projections regularly to ensure accurate financial forecasting.

• Liaise with program managers to ensure solvent budgets.

• Use knowledge of financial accounting functions and generally accepted accounting principles to make informed decisions.

• Handle billing and revenue collections effectively.

• Utilize experience with federal grants, budget, and accounting to optimize financial operations.

• Utilize software systems such as SHARE Financials and Microsoft Office to perform tasks.

• Adhere to budget processes and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Budget Analyst

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Experience with Banner Ads is desirable

• Familiarity with Concur is a significant advantage

• Should have hands-on experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Proficiency in Hyperion Technologies is advantageous

• Must be well-versed in Accounting Functions

• Experience in Budget Processes is required

• Ability to handle Documentation tasks effectively

• Experience in managing Expenditure and Expense Reporting is necessary
