Description
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Collections Specialist to manage and oversee a portfolio of accounts for a successful distributor in Santa Fe Springs. The ideal candidate will effectively engage with our clients to collect outstanding payments and resolve related issues. This includes an understanding of collections, excellent communication skills, and solid analytical thinking to ensure the smooth operation of payment processes and the reconciliation created by any invoice errors.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee a comprehensive portfolio of commercial accounts.
Follow up with customers through phone calls, emails, and other communication methods regarding unpaid invoices to ensure timely collections.
Negotiate payment plans with clients who have outstanding debts, while acting in the best interest of the company.
Identify issues causing payment delays and work closely with the client to resolve the problems.
Monitor outstanding customer orders and withhold or release shipments as required.
Reconcile accounts to confirm that payments and credits are accurately posted.
Prepare reports detailing accounts receivable status to update management.
Maintain an updated knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to debt collection.
Work cross-functionally with other departments, such as Sales and Customer Service, to streamline processes and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial collections
Strong knowledge of collection techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with an aim for accuracy.
Ability to work independently, manage large amounts of data, and meet deadlines.
