Robert Half has partnered with a growing ecommerce and CPG company to hire a Controller. As the Controller, you will oversee a team of 5 and manage the day to day accounting function for a brand that has a large online presence and partners with large big box retailer. You will be working in an industry that requires a deep understanding of financial controls, procedures, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the correct accounting process considering the company's growth and e-commerce remittance patterns.

• Establish and maintain proper procedures and financial controls, updating and creating process documents for all finance-related functions.

• Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on cash flow, balance sheet, P& L, domestic and international sales taxes.

• Analyze the company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

• Manage cash, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, and oversee the work of three employees in these areas.

• Establish and coordinate relationships with tax firms, financial institutions, lenders, and investors.

• Oversee preparation of tax schedules, tax returns, and information for outside tax and accounting firms.

• Ensure compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.

• Work closely with senior management to create yearly and quarterly budgets and map out various financial scenarios.

• Stay up-to-date with technological advances, banking products, and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.

• Research and analyze financial reports and market trends to provide insightful information which can be used to create efficiencies and aid in long-term and short-term decision-making.

• Oversee internal payroll and HR functions such as administering the outside payroll provider platform, working with the third-party pension plan advisor, handling EDD correspondence, and ensuring HR confidential files and company-wide process docs are filed correctly and up to date.

• Work with legal counsel and senior management to ensure proper and comprehensive insurance policies are in place and renewed in a timely manner.

• Act as an advisor, from the financial perspective, on contracts into which the corporation may enter.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or a similar position in financial management.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is essential.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Must possess strong skills in Auditing.

• Proficiency in managing Budget Processes is required.

• Must have experience in Month End Close activities.

• Strong skills in Financial Reporting are essential.

• Experience in eCommerce is a plus.

• Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Costs is required.
