Robert Half Financial Analyst in Santa Monica, California

Description If you are looking for work as a Financial Analyst and have dedication, Robert Half may be interested in you for an opportunity at a fast-growing company. In this position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as have responsibility for measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. We will also rely on you for advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team serving as a key business partner in areas like forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity and is located in the Santa Monica, California, area. We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in financial analysis.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

  • Power monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

  • Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Understand and communicate internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Work next to senior executives on long-term deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

  • Flexible candidate that can organize a vast amount of information while managing high expectations

  • Compose and oversee forecasting reports

  • Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance

  • Analyze annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations and supply information to business partners to inform decision making Requirements - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

  • Deep understanding of Hyperion Financial Reporting

  • SAP experience

  • Journal entries experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Adeptness in month end closings

  • Financial reporting experience highly desired

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

  • Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Skill with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
