Robert Half HR Generalist in Santa Monica, California

Description

Startup company in Santa Monica seeks a temporary Human Resources Generalist until our permanent HR role is filled. This position requires working in-person and remotely to support our growing team. The estimated duration of this role is 1-3 months, potential for transition into a permanent role based on performance and company needs. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.

  • Handle HR administration such as running payroll, leave management, employee records maintenance, and health and benefits enrollment.

  • Deliver informed advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment law to management and employees.

  • Coordinate performance management and employee development programs.

  • Implement and monitor adherence to HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and updating HR policies and procedures to promote the company culture and vision.

  • Manage employee relations, quickly addressing any questions, grievances, or suggestions.

  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze data for retention strategies.

  • Assist in organizing company events and maintain a vibrant company culture.

  • Comply with relevant legislation and report on human capital metrics.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience as an HR generalist or similar role.

  • Excellent knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

  • Outstanding people skills with the ability to solve conflicts.

  • Proven ability managing recruitment and payroll.

  • Proficiency in HRIS software and HR management systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organizational and time management skills.

  • Professional certification in Human resources is a plus.

  • BA/BSc degree in Human Resources or related field.

This is a hybrid role in Santa Monica, and you will be required on-site 3 days per week. Pay is based on experience, $30-35/hr. This position is anticipated to last 1-3 months.

Requirements • Experience as an HR Generalist or similar role

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Knowledge of ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode

• Proficiency in HRMS and Ceridian

• Experience with About Time software

• Ability to handle Benefit Functions

• Experience in Compensation Administration

• Knowledge of Compliance regulations and procedures

• Strong skills in Employee Relations

• Ability to use software tools and platforms relevant to the role.
