Robert Half Medical Scheduler in Santa Monica, California

Description We are searching for a Medical Scheduler to join our team located in Santa Monica, California. This role primarily involves facilitating patient scheduling and administrative tasks within a healthcare facility. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all patients' appointments and related procedures are scheduled efficiently, contributing to our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the task of scheduling patients' appointments and procedures efficiently

• Responsible for checking in patients at the Cancer Center and providing necessary support

• Obtain authorizations for cancer imaging and surgeries from insurance companies

• Verify insurance coverage for cancer imaging and surgeries

• Communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients regarding authorizations and insurance coverage

• Oversee the process of checking out patients after their visit

• Handle patient interactions over the phone and during check-out from the clinic

• Utilize the Electronic Medical Records system EPIC for various administrative tasks

• Contribute to the administrative team's overall productivity and efficiency by assisting with other administrative tasks as required. Requirements • Previous experience in a Medical Scheduler role or similar position is preferred

• Proficiency in Administrative Assistance tasks such as organizing, filing, and managing appointments

• Familiarity with Medical Insurance Verification procedures and guidelines

• Ability to efficiently manage Patient Scheduling, ensuring all appointments are timely and conflicts are minimized

• Experience in Surgery Scheduling, including preoperative and postoperative appointments

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and effective patient interaction

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple schedules and patient records

• Basic computer skills and proficiency in scheduling software or databases

• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare industry practices

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with relevant laws and regulations

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
