The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Santa Rosa, California region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position. Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Solid understanding of Controllership
HealthCare Industry experience
Microsoft Excel experience
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Excellent attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Vow to meet business deadlines
CPA or MBA preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
