Description
We are looking for a qualified Sr. Accountant to join a well-respected and growing financial institution in Sonoma County. In this role, your primary focus will be to support the smooth operation of the accounting department by performing a variety of accounting duties. You will be tasked with maintaining compliance with banking regulations, preparing reports, and assisting in the management of the company's financial records. Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain monthly Loan Board Reports
Assist in the management and maintenance of the bank's insurance policies
Handle the accounting entries and reconciliations associated with the Bank's lease agreements
Support the preparation of the quarterly Call Report and other regulatory reports such as Y-9C, Y-9LP, Summary of Deposits, FR-2900, and Y-8
Perform daily reconciliation of the general ledger accounts maintained by other departments within the bank
Manage pledged securities and ensure accurate reporting for the Bank's government deposits and public deposits
Handle aspects of the Bank's investment portfolio and securitization of the purchased guaranteed loans portfolio
Assist in the monthly certifications and reconciliations maintained by accounting and other departments within the bank
Support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer in performing various accounting and reporting duties as needed
Perform routine clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, posting, and tabulating
Serve as a backup for accounts payable processing and other accounting duties as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with college level coursework in accounting preferred. Some accounting coursework required
Minimum of 6 years accounting/finance experience required
Must be proficient in loan accounting
Advanced Excel skills required
Strong analytical skills with experience in measuring and improving processes to meet department and/or organization goals
Demonstrated ability to work both independently (self-directed) and with others as part of a team
Able to confidently interact with a variety of internal customers/management.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Attention to detail is required with a proven ability to research and analyze financial results
