Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative Non-Profit company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be interested in this position if you want to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities
Rent processing and accounts receivable
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Background working with Microsoft Excel
General familiarity with Yardi
Account reconciliation experience desired
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Form 1099 experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of bank reconciliations
Proficiency in account reconciliation
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Proficient in ERP systems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
