Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in Savannah, Georgia
Description We are seeking an entry-level Accountant to join our transport industry team in Savannah, Georgia. The role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity where you will be responsible for general accounting activities and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the closing activities at the end of each month
• Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet accounts
• Conduct account analysis as required
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate with outside audit process when necessary
• Assist with payroll and timekeeping processes
• Contribute proactively to data management and reporting in collaboration with other departments
• Ensure governance of employee master data and handle third-party benefits invoice reconciliations
• Apply your knowledge of account coding and accounting software systems
• Use Adobe Acrobat, Dynamics NAV, and ERP Solutions for various tasks
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation tasks
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing. Requirements • Possesses a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the transport industry.
• Proficient in account coding and account analysis.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of accounting software systems and ERP solutions.
• Proficient in using Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV.
• Has the ability to perform accounting functions and make accounting entries accurately.
• Experienced in account reconciliation and managing accounts payable (AP).
• Holds a degree in Accounting or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations and standards is a plus.
• Proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
