Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Savannah, Georgia. This role is critical to our financial operations, providing leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all financial aspects of our organization. As a Controller, you will be a member of our senior leadership team, working closely with the Board and Finance committee, and helping develop the long-term strategic and financial planning for our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide the Board of Directors and Administration with leadership, vision, evaluation, and reporting on long-range and annual plans

• Provide critical recommendations on financial and operational strategies

• Manage business office operations, business office personnel, and cash flow

• Ensure compliance with formal financial reporting requirements

• Prepare financial records and reconciliations for the annual, independent audit

• Manage and oversee Human Resource activities to include payroll, benefits, retirement plan and plan administrator

• Support Advancement team by providing financial reports and data as needed; ensure compliance with donor designations

• Oversee endowment activities and performance. Work with Investment Committee to ensure proper management of the portfolio

• Negotiate, issue, and oversee contract management services for leases, loans, and office equipment

• Work with department heads on budgeting and tracking.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar function

• Demonstrated skills in Auditing and Budget Processes are essential

• Proficiency in Blackbaud and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is preferred

• Experience with Fund Accounting is a HIGHLY PREFERRED

• Must be able to conduct Ad Hoc Financial Analysis and analyze Financial Statements

• Experience in preparing Annual Audited Financial Statements, Annual Financial Plans, and Annual Financial Reports is necessary

• Familiarity with ADP Financial Services is desirable

• Experience in managing Endowment Funds and Educational Tuition Assistance Plans is important

• Ability to conduct Cash Flow Analysis and Cash Flow Forecasts is required

• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting is essential

• Familiarity with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution Process (PPBE) is beneficial

• Must be able to handle Full Cycle Payroll
