Description Robert Half Finance is searching for an ambitious Controller eager to join the team at a reputable Healthcare/NHS company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Major responsibilities
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month Requirements - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Consolidated Balance Sheet experience preferred
Joint ventures experience desired
Proven knowledge of Consolidated Tax Return
Knowledge of Annual Audited Financial Statements
Deep understanding of month end closings
Consolidated Financial Statements experience
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
