Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Schaumburg, Illinois

This is a great opportunity to work at a dynamic organization with a growing team. The opening for a permanent Accounts Payable Clerk is in the Schaumburg, Illinois area.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Produce full-cycle A/P

  • Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

  • Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

  • Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Provide customer service to internal business partners Requirements

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

  • Proven knowledge of Invoice Payment

  • 3 Way Matching experience

  • General familiarity with Sage Accounting Software

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Ensure Accuracy experience highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in Invoice Approvals

  • Well-founded grasp of Vendor Payment

  • Practical knowledge of QuickBooks

  • Deep understanding of Reconcile Vendor Statements

  • Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
