Robert Half Account Clerk in Schenectady, New York


Join a team of highly skilled, motivated professionals as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk through this opportunity offered by Robert Half. This position works closely and reports to the Accounting Manager and handles all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The essential functions of this role will include resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Schenectady, New York area and will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire position.

What you get to do every day

  • Provide support to internal team

  • Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

  • Operate full-cycle A/P

  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • General familiarity with Journal Vouchers

  • Monitor Expenditures experience preferred

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Strong familiarity with journal entries

  • Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Experience with Daily Receipts

  • Adeptness in account reconciliation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Prepare Financial Reports

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
