Sr. Accountant in Schertz, Texas

Description Your main responsibilities in this position would include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day

  • Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests Requirements - Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Accounting Principles experience highly desired

  • US GAAP experience preferred

  • General familiarity with Public Accounting

  • Knowledge of Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Solid understanding of Corporate Income Tax

  • Well-founded grasp of Public Accounting Tax

  • Proven knowledge of general ledger

  • Deep understanding of Corporate Tax Return

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
