Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant assists with financial and income tax statements, making sure that they comply with tax laws by filing their federal and state tax returns. Your responsibilities in this role
Develop solutions for complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
Provide management with information regarding the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Oversee tax preparation work that is outsourced
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits
Confirm that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Put together accurate quarterly and annual tax reports Requirements - Exceptional organizational skills
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Excellent communication and organizational skills
CPA highly preferred
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
2+ years of public or corporate tax
