Description
Our client, an established manufacturing company in the Scranton area, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and a strong background in cost accounting.
Responsibilities of a successful Senior Accountant:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Conduct monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures
Accurately calculate and analyze costs of goods sold (COGS), including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, including preparing financial projections and monitoring budget-to-actual performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on cost accounting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of GAAP principles and cost accounting standards
