Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Seal Beach, California

Description We are in search of a detail-focused Accounts Payable Specialist for the real estate industry, based in Seal Beach, California. This role will involve managing and processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating daily cash deposits. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the vendor database, adding new vendors as necessary.

• Obtain necessary IRS documents for payments.

• Process vendor invoices and route them for approval.

• Verify the approval of all invoices and check requests before payment.

• Input invoices/payable vouchers to the AP system.

• Assign general ledger account coding to all Accounts Payable disbursements.

• Determine the bank account from which to issue payment.

• Coordinate the approval, release, and printing of check batches.

• Process payment of invoices via ACH transfer.

• Facilitate the OCR document capture system’s processing of vendor invoices.

• Generate Positive Pay files and transmit to banks.

• Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries.

• Process requests for cashier’s checks and coordinate preparation with issuing banks.

• Reconcile Accounts Payable system balances and activity to the General Ledger.

• Respond to requests for payment support from auditors and others.

• Maintain accounting software as it relates to the processing of AP; troubleshoot issues for various users of the system.

• Communicate both internally and externally regarding payables matters.

• Assist with special projects as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) software

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system

• Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Accounting Functions

• Knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Check Processing

• Proficiency in Data Entry

• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies

• Real estate industry experience is a plus

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
