Description Robert Half is actively searching for an earnest, resourceful Controller to join the innovative team at an prominent services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Responsibilities

  • Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • High attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Proficiency in Annual Budget

  • Financial planning experience preferred

  • Experience with financial analysis

  • Well-founded grasp of Perform Ad Hoc Financial

  • Collaboration experience preferred

  • Leadership Skills experience desired

  • Proven knowledge of financial reporting

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
