Description
A company in the Non-Profit industry is working with Robert Half to find candidates for their Full Charge Bookkeeper position. To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long-term contract Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Seattle, Washington.
What you get to do every day
Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents
Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner
Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Requirements
A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
Excel and Peachtree experience desired
Background in payroll preferred
High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
Expertise in Timekeeping System
Proficiency in QuickBooks
Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly desired
Adeptness in general ledger
