Robert Half Grant Accountant in Seattle, Washington

Description We are offering a unique opportunity for a Grant Accountant in the non-profit industry, based in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks including financial reporting, data analysis, and grant administration. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Extract and comprehend data from accounting systems for reporting and billing purposes

• Utilize advanced Excel formulas to simplify and enhance data readability for reporting

• Analyze financial statements on various timeframes (monthly, quarterly, annually)

• Negotiate and implement changes to agreements and contracts, including budget amendments

• Develop and refine processes for contract and grant administration

• Generate timely grant and contract invoicing through government portals with appropriate coding

• Manage and track required data

• Maintain documents related to grants and contracts

• Provide support to Program Managers in understanding grant requirements and maximizing revenue

• Act as a subject matter expert for Seattle Social Services related grants and contracts

• Monitor program outcomes to ensure contracts are meeting objectives

• Assist in the creation and administration of agreements between partner organizations

• Research and prepare grant applications for new funding

• Implement and maintain reporting procedures for all funders

• Foster positive relationships with funders and partner agencies

• Consult on contract compliance related issues and provide solutions

• Maintain confidentiality of all internal and external information

• Perform other administrative functions as requested. Requirements • Proficient in Grant Accounting and Fund Accounting

• Experience with Fund Accounting in a Non-Profit setting

• Knowledgeable in Billing, Billing Functions, and preparation of Billing Statements

• Familiar with Grant Administration procedures and protocols

• Experience with Federal Grant management and compliance

• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
