Robert Half IT Help Desk in Seattle, Washington


A client of ours at Robert Half is looking for a Help Desk Technician to join their team! This is a hybrid position (4 days in office, 1 day remote/week) based in Edmonds, WA that will also include 4-5 weeks of time spent in Alaska during June/July during the organizations peak season. Housing, food, and laundry services will be provided. There will always be people there to help each other out (essentially the whole IT team goes up there together and is very collaborative).

Day to day:

  • 10 months out of the year will be a regular HD role here in Edmonds, but in June/July this person will be sent up to Nanek, Alaska for around 4-5 weeks. Housing, food, and laundry services will be provided. There will always be people there to help each other out (essentially the whole IT team goes up there together and is very collaborative).

  • Monitors the Helpdesk ticketing system. Assists users with IT issues. Documents resolutions. Assigns more complex tickets to other IT staff. Follows through to ensure timely response and completion of all tickets, even those assigned to others. Responsible for weekend coverage approximately one weekend per month (rotates among IT staff).

  • Provides user support, troubleshoots issues, follows through on open tickets with internal IT staff and external vendors.

  • Maintains IT inventory, both physical and inventory lists.

  • Images, deploys, maintains and moves equipment.

Ability for growth: Yes - they are a midsize company so there are certainly roles to move up into. A lot of their IT folks start in Help Desk and can move to Network, Systems, or where ever their strengths/interests are.

Team Culture: This is a great team that is very collaborative and gets along well together. This is a great role for someone who likes a bit of adventure given they will be able to go to Alaska every summer. They also just moved into a brand new office right next to the water.

Must haves:

  • Prior Help Desk experience and/or IT schooling - flexible on years of experience

  • MS O365, Windows 10/11

  • General PC/Network knowledge (LAN/WAN)

  • Hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, etc.)

Nice to haves:

  • Someone who has done some physical hardware set up (network cabling, laptop, desktops)

  • Experience with ManageEngine Service desk plus ticketing system, ManageEngine Desktop Central, ManageEngine AD Manager Plus

  • Understanding of Alaskan Seafood industry
