Robert Half Payroll Supervisor in Seattle, Washington

Description

Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Manager position. The Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. This may be the role for you if you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven.

Your responsibilities

  • Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping

  • Manage the accuracy of records and prepare reports

  • Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)

  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

  • Coach and supervise payroll assistants and clerks

  • Help create systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

  • Respond to all questions related to payroll and resolve issues

  • Comply with relevant laws and internal policies

  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000.

Requirements

  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

  • CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

  • 5+ years of payroll experience

  • Trained in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Excellent knowledge in compliance

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

  • Understands a number of payroll applications

  • Knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes
