Robert Half Tax Accountant in Seattle, Washington

Description

Robert Half is in search of a Senior Income Tax Accountant to assist one of our technology clients. This position will be under the supervision of the Tax Manager and will play a vital role in the preparation of the company's global quarterly tax provision and yearly income tax compliance documents.

While this role is situated in the client's Seattle office, they offer a flexible combination of office-based and remote work arrangements.

Your Duties:

  • Contribution to the global quarterly income tax provision.

  • Collaborating with external partners to facilitate preparation of our US Federal, state, and global income tax returns.

  • Providing support in calculations for US Federal, state, and global income/franchise tax submissions.

  • Assisting in calculations for the yearly transfer pricing assessment.

  • Collaborating with accounting and outside tax service providers to oversee fixed asset tax depreciation calculations and disclosures for income tax and personal property filings.

  • Preparation of yearly personal property tax returns.

  • Assistance in the monthly end close process by handling relevant tax accruals and reserves.

  • Identifying and maintaining process enhancements and technology supporting the income tax function.

  • Conducting technical tax research, effectively communicating results, and suggesting potential courses of action.

  • Assisting with income tax audits by accumulating data, composing responses to information requests, and occasional interaction and communication with tax authorities.

  • Building connections with both internal and external tax resources.

  • Assisting in implementing and maintaining SOX control processes and documentation for income tax.

  • Other tax-related projects as assigned.

    Requirements

Your Credentials:

  • An accomplished professional with 3-6 years of relevant income tax experience.

  • Sound technical understanding of corporate federal and state income tax.

  • Prior experience with accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, preferably in a public company setting.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an advanced tax degree.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems (NetSuite, CorpTax/OneSource/Longview a plus).

  • Strong researching skills and the ability to evaluate and communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Experience in a fast-paced workplace with proven prioritization skills and the ability to work independently on numerous projects.

Your Bonus Skills:

  • Licensed CPA.

  • Experience with global income tax compliance.

  • Proficient in ASC 740, 450, and FIN 48 in a public company setting.

  • Experience with tax provision software implantation.

  • Experience in the technology industry.
