Robert Half Senior Accountant in Sebastian, Florida
Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to be a part of our Finance & Accounting department located in Sebastian, Florida. The Senior Accountant will primarily handle all accounting aspects for the company, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and appropriate judgment to maintain accurate accounting records, prepare tax returns, financial statements, and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounting and preparation of financial statements for multiple companies within the group.
• Conduct daily accounting activities in preparation of financial statements, including recording accounting transactions, preparing accruals, tracking fixed assets and depreciation, processing journal entries, and performing detailed GL account reconciliations.
• Adhere to month-end financial closing procedures.
• Track billable expenses and bill back lessees, lessors, and affiliated companies as applicable.
• Manage and process all entries for consignment inventory and prepare detailed consignment reports for internal and external use.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of margins on parts sales and services, prepare detailed analysis and process adjustments as needed on a monthly basis.
• Prepare schedules and detailed explanations to fulfill the annual financial audit requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
• Track revenues and expenses by project, and report performance on a monthly basis.
• Assist in preparing forecasts and supporting the annual budget cycle and report variances to budget monthly.
• Maintain and publish databases of financial information.
• Review and submit preliminary financial statements for review and approval.
• Support the implementation and further development of systems, focusing on efficiency and internal controls.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies & procedures.
• Perform other activities as requested.

• Month End Close Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting role
• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation is essential
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations
• Proficient in managing the general ledger
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience in month-end close processes
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Professional certification such as CPA is considered an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
