Job Title: Associate Attorney – Elder Law and Estate Planning

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Elder Law Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elder law, with expertise in areas such as guardianship, estate planning, probate/estate administration, and probate litigation. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for helping seniors and their families plan for the future and protect their assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to elder law, including asset protection, estate planning, powers of attorney, living wills, deeds, Medicaid planning, Veteran’s Aid & Attendance, and other related matters.

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective strategies for clients.

  • Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.

  • Assist clients in navigating complex legal issues and making informed decisions about their long-term care and financial planning.

  • Represent clients in civil cases involving guardianships, will caveats, tortious interference with inheritance, and other litigation arising from estate planning issues.

  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting elder law practice

  • Participate in social media and marketing efforts, including creating video and written content for the firm.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • North Carolina Bar License

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing elder law, with a focus on estate planning, guardianship, and probate administration.

  • Strong understanding of relevant federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to elder law.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with clients and their families.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
