Robert Half is looking for a talented accounting manager to work with a thriving company as an Accounting Manager. This is a successful growing company that will recognize your efforts. This position is for candidates who can lead daily operations and run the month end close, including preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with reporting as applicable. This position is for candidates with the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. This Accounting Manager role is a permanent employment opportunity, based in the Shelton, Connecticut area.
What you get to do every day
Lead and encourage the full accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met
Assist in the implementation of NetSuite Financials, including system and process design, data migration, testing, training, and go-forward system administration
Regularly review and inspect balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant
Command sufficient knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
Work closely with FP& A and accounting management to create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Requirements
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
5+ years of recent relevant accounting experience; Big 4 or public accounting experience highly desired
CPA or MBA preferred
Adeptness in general ledger
Practical knowledge of Audit Activities
Experience with bank and ledger reconciliations
Proficiency in financial statement preparation
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Month end closings experience desired
Process Improvement experience
Month end closings experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
Reliable technology and analytical abilities
Strong problem-solving skills
