Description
Our client is a leading manufacturing company in search of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their finance team. With their commitment to excellence and innovation, they have established themselves as a leader in the industry. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the month-end close process. Your expertise in inventory management and fixed assets will be crucial in helping the organization optimize their manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with 3-5+ years of experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Month-end Close: Lead and participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements and reports.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including but not limited to revenue, expenses, accruals, and prepaid accounts.
Inventory Control: Oversee inventory accounting activities, including valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations, inventory reconciliations, and analysis of inventory levels and variances.
Fixed Asset Management: Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, including tracking, recording, and reconciling fixed assets, conducting physical inventories, and calculating depreciation expenses.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices in areas related to month-end close, inventory, and fixed assets.
Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis and support to management, highlighting key trends, variances, and performance indicators.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and engineering, to gather necessary data, analyze financial impacts, and support decision-making processes.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge and experience with month-end closing processes, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
Expertise in inventory management, including inventory valuation methods, cost of goods sold calculations, and inventory reconciliations.
Proficiency in fixed asset accounting, including tracking, recording, and calculating depreciation expenses.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. Experience with ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
