Insurance verification specialist responsibilities:
Verifying insurance coverage for patients prior to medical appointments or procedures.
Contacting insurance companies to obtain information regarding coverage details, deductibles, co-pays, and benefits.
Updating patient records with accurate insurance information.
Communicating with patients to inform them of their insurance coverage status and any potential financial responsibilities.
Resolving any insurance-related issues or discrepancies.
Working closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
Adhering to all relevant privacy and compliance regulations, such as HIPAA.
Maintaining detailed documentation of insurance verification activities.
Additional skills that may be required include attention to detail, strong communication skills, proficiency with insurance verification software or databases, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare
Basic Medical Terminology experience desired
Proficiency in HealthCare Insurance
Insurance (Dental) experience highly desired
Health Insurance Industry experience
