Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Signal Hill, California
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Signal Hill, California. This role is pivotal in our finance department, where you will handle a high volume of transactions, update receipts, and apply your understanding of general ledger codes. The role will be office-based in a dynamic and bustling environment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process high volumes of credit card transactions on a monthly basis.
• Update receipts into our software system, Vista or Sage 300.
• Liaise with project managers to request receipts for upload into the system.
• Apply a thorough understanding of general ledger codes, specifically within the range of 5000 to 7000.
• Conduct 3-way matching to prepare check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.
• Process credit cards and resolve any discrepancies with accounts.
• Display a professional approach to interacting with colleagues in a construction/blue collar company setting.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems proficiently to perform accounting functions.
• Execute data entry tasks and handle accounts payable duties with accuracy.
• Maintain the integrity of our accounting functions by ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledge of Check Processing
• Data Entry skills
• Ability to handle discrepancies
• Familiarity with MS Windows Vista
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista and Sage 300
• Proficiency in Windows Vista
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is a plus.
