Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in SKOKIE, Illinois

Description Are you currently looking for a new position? A company in the Manufacturing industry has partnered with Robert Half to find an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position offers an opportunity to become an essential part of a company in the Manufacturing industry. Located in Skokie, Illinois, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire position. Career growth and quick advancement makes this department a desirable place to work. The Accounts Payable Clerk tasks will consist of matching and batching code invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks.

What you get to do every single day

  • Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

  • Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

  • Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

  • Perform full-cycle A/P

  • Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

  • Execute additional tasks as needed

  • Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

  • Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed

  • Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Earlier work involving Coding Invoices

  • General familiarity with Code Invoices

  • JDE EnterpriseOne experience desired

  • Customer invoices experience highly preferred

  • Practical knowledge of Coding Invoices

  • Background working with Code Invoices

  • Good understanding of 10 Key Accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in Excel Formulas

  • JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience preferred

  • Adeptness in Check Runs

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Purchase Orders

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Strong attention to detail
