Description
Robert Half is working with a growing hospitality company in Sloatsburg NY find their next bookkeeper to assist the CFO with payroll, accounts payable and month-end close.
Administering weekly payroll for restaurant employees through
Toast the POS system:
Reviewing time entries once approved by managers.
Reviewing tips, process tip pool spreadsheet.
Preparing payroll transactions in the payroll system
Reviewing and ensuring that SLA timing are met for alcohol payments.
Preparing other vendor payments online and by check
Managing vendor communications and relationships.
Filing physical and electronic invoices and statements.
Data entry of bills and payments, payroll and other activity in the accounting records.
Payroll-related administration including some participation in:
Employees pay rate changes.
Employee onboarding and offboarding.
Other administration, workers compensation and disability
Separation, intake, and review of restaurant mail.
Requirements
Experience in accounting and a fundamental understanding of accounting is essential.
At minimum, an associate degree in accounting or financial management is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, displaying an ability to work adeptly and process data with maximum efficiency.
Experience using accounting software.
Expertise in QuickBooks and hospitality point of sales systems preferred.
Motivated to work through repetitive tasks and confidence to tackle unique problems through independent research as well as collaboration.
