Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Soledad, California. The role involves maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and performing various administrative tasks within the accounting department. This position requires the application of accounting skills and knowledge of the financial industry to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms

• Handle the receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling of invoices to control expenses

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice and expense reports and recording entries

• Obtain invoice approvals from respective managers or supervisors

• Address purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation

• Schedule and prepare checks for vendor payments on a weekly basis

• Process checks on request and keep a record of all invoices by digitally filing documents

• Prepare and maintain 1099 forms

• Respond promptly to all vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements

• Assist in month-end closing and in audits or special projects as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar position

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Check Runs

• Capability to perform Coding Invoices accurately

• Strong Data Entry skills

• Experience with Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent time management skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proven problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
