Robert Half Power BI Developer in Somerset, New Jersey

Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Developing data and analytics solutions using Power BI, MS SQL, and Azure.

  • Managing projects for data and analytics solutions that scale and adapt to accommodate growth using Power BI and Azure.

  • Creates and maintains all company requested reports using SSRS, Power BI, and other reporting tools to meet company needs as required.

  • Creating informative and interactive data visualizations/models using Power BI.

  • Provide oversight and expertise in data modeling and database design for maintaining data integrity of all relevant company datasets.

  • Writing relational and multidimensional database queries and designing custom-fit analysis and reporting solutions.

  • Architect and develop data models, ETL packages and reports utilizing Power BI while applying best practices in the development lifecycle.

  • Manages external data sources to ensure accessibility.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders responsible for information and performance management to ensure reporting needs for departments are met.

  • Build out a self-service capability to empower business users.

Other Important Responsibilities:

  • Handles related email and telephone correspondence in a timely and professional manner.

  • Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.

  • Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned.

    Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI stack. Power BI, MS SQL, SSIS and SSRS.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the development and administration of at least one of the following areas:

  • Back-end data integration and architecture including dimensional data modeling, database design, data warehousing, ETL development, and performance tuning

  • Front-end reporting and analytics platforms including tabular data modeling, Performance Point, Power Pivot, Power View, Power BI Report and Dashboard development

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Foundational knowledge of the following areas:

  • Metadata management

  • Master Data Management

  • Data Governance

  • Data Analytics

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent record keeping and auditing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load.

  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, sensitive to client needs, self-motivated, creative and innovative.
