Description
A current opening through Robert Half Finance, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Responsibilities
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Requirements
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Month end closings experience
Adeptness in Approved Budgets
Deep understanding of cash forecasting
Knowledge of budget forecasting
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Experience with year end closings
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
