Robert Half Medical Receptionist in South Portland, Maine
Description We are extending an opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in our South Portland, Maine location. The role is integral to our medical team, focusing on insurance verification, maintaining an organized office filing system, patient support, and scheduling appointments among other tasks. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Verify and process patient insurance details
• Maintain an organized office filing system and efficiently retrieve patient records when required
• Distribute intake and new patient forms to patients
• Provide support and guidance to patients as needed
• Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and past due balances at the time of service; establish payment plans when necessary
• Schedule initial and follow-up appointments for physicians, clinicians, and ultrasound labs
• Utilize various medical software including Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, Medisoft for various tasks
• Perform billing functions and manage charts and graphs using Microsoft Excel
• Complete additional tasks and projects as requested. Requirements • Proficiency in using medical software including Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, Medisoft, and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with billing functions within a medical setting.
• Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs.
• Knowledge and understanding of chiropractic terminology and procedures.
• Experience in clinical trial operations.
• Understanding and experience with insurance claims and processes related to medical services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a medical receptionist role is preferred.
