Description
We are working with a growing and dynamic company in the home automation sector looking for a reliable Accounting Clerk to join their finance team. This role is ideal for an individual who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and looking to build a career in accounting.
Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, and reconciliation of financial records. This is an entry-level position, providing opportunities for professional development and growth within the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist with processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and verifying payment details.
Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting software, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies between financial records.
Filing and Documentation: Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and ensure compliance with company policies.
General Ledger Support: Assist with journal entries and other general ledger maintenance tasks as needed.
Financial Reporting Support: Help prepare financial reports and assist in gathering data for monthly and quarterly reports.
Customer and Vendor Communication: Respond to inquiries regarding payments, invoices, and account details.
Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent (required). An associate degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
1–2 years of experience in accounting or administrative support (preferred, but not required).
Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, customers, and vendors.
Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
Eagerness to learn and grow in the accounting field.
