Description
Contract Payroll Manager needed in South San Francisco, California. This role is integral to our Finance team and plays a crucial role in managing payroll operations, tax processes, and vendor relationships. The Payroll Manager will also support general finance and accounting activities, making this role a pivotal part of our operations. Responsibilities:
• Facilitate various payroll operations, including issue resolution, escalations, approvals, and employee communication.
• Oversee vendor activities related to payroll processing, including monthly, quarterly, and annual activities.
• Prepare and review payroll data files for each payroll cycle and maintain accurate records.
• Process and prepare monthly and quarterly payroll journal entries.
• Respond to and manage tax notices, registrations, wage orders, government correspondences, and provide audit support.
• Work closely with Accounting, HR, and Finance departments for policy, project, and operational support.
• Assist with vendor and stakeholder management, including the preparation of requested statistical and financial payroll reports.
• Provide superior customer service to all end-users regarding system use, function, issues, and questions; troubleshoot the payroll system and payroll vendor interface files for issues.
• Manage year-end and annual audits, reporting, and ad hoc analyses.
• Carry out additional Finance responsibilities as necessary, including assisting with data analysis and reporting needs.
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management or related field
• Strong understanding of accounting functions
• Experience in auditing
• Ability to manage benefit functions
• Proficiency in using UKG Pro software
