Description
Robert Half's client is a leading biotechnology company located in South San Francisco, dedicated to pioneering advancements in cancer research. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team on a temp-to-hire basis.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in our finance department, managing complex accounting activities and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
ERP System Management: Utilize large ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP) to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis on financial statements and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial data.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in large ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP required); advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work environment.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
