Description
Our trusted client is seeking senior accounting support for a long-term project. This long-term engagement is fully onsite in Southfield Michigan and will report directly to the Head of Accounting.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Oversee and conduct data mining operations to extract necessary financial information
• Monitor and manage inventory counts to ensure accurate records
• Prepare audit support documents and assist in the auditing process
• Manage general ledger entries and ensure their accuracy and completeness
• Conduct bank account reconciliations to confirm accurate financial records
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting functions and operations
• Prepare for audits by organizing and reviewing financial records
• Assist in the resolution of financial discrepancies and issues.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or related field
• Proficient in accounting functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Strong auditing skills with the ability to assess and rectify discrepancies in financial records
• Experience in managing budget processes, including planning, forecasting, and analysis
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is mandatory
• Ability to perform bank account reconciliation accurately and efficiently
• Experience in data mining and analysis to provide insight into business performance
• Knowledgeable in audit preparation, including gathering and organizing necessary documentation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
