Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Staff Accountant in Southfield, Michigan. This role primarily involves handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to make journal entries and close accounts at the end of each month. This position is ideal for someone with skills in job cost and construction accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks efficiently
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Manage the general ledger and make necessary journal entries
• Perform month-end close procedures accurately and in a timely manner
• Utilize job cost and construction accounting skills to perform relevant tasks
• Ensure all accounting tasks are performed in line with industry standards and company policies
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable, receivable, or general ledger
• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to ensure smooth financial operations
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and changes in regulations related to construction accounting.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Experience with General Ledger operations and management
• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
• Knowledge of Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with Job Cost calculations and management (3+ years of job costing)
• Experience in Construction Accounting
• Understanding of Construction industry financial needs and practices
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of accounting software and databases
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
